About

I'm Noor Shaker — scientist, entrepreneur, and writer — working at the intersection of biology and artificial intelligence.

I hold a PhD in machine learning and spent over a decade in academia, including a role as Assistant Professor at Aalborg University. I’ve published over 70 peer-reviewed papers and co-authored a book on AI and games. My research has spanned affective computing, generative models, computational creativity, drug discovery, and cancer diagnostics. I also hold five patents and continue to publish actively.

I went on to found three companies in AI and healthcare. Most notably, I founded Glamorous AI, a company using machine learning to accelerate drug discovery, which was acquired by X-Chem in 2021. Today, I lead SpatialX, a company developing AI-first tools to improve cancer diagnostics.

Over the years, I’ve been honored by MIT Technology Review (Innovators Under 35 Europe), the BBC (100 Women), and BioBeat (50 Movers & Shakers in Biotech). I'm also spoken at events hosted by MIT, Oxford, Wired, and the Alan Turing Institute.

My biweekly newsletter, Noor’s Newsletter, offers a strategic take on the forces reshaping life sciences, intelligence, and sovereignty — written for founders, technologists, investors, and policymakers.
